I needed to control multiple computers with one set of monitors (2) and 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 camera, 1 headset.
I did not want 2 monitors, 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 camera, 1 headset for each computer.
I have ordered KVMs’s before and had mixed success…
(set 1) it worked great until the thin controller wire got severed. I planned to repair it but never got around to fixing it. Now I need an updated version to handle display ports and 2 monitors.
(set 2) it worked great but was limited to 1 monitor
(set 3) MT-ViKi model MT-801UKL I bought 2 to control 2 monitors. Initially it worked for 8 computers but within 2-3 weeks, it no longer worked and was after the amizon return period.
(set 4) I am switching to a dual monitor KVM and using the display port instead of the VGA port since the computers I am using have 2 display ports and 1 VGA port. This is pricier (at the time $289 for 2 monitors and 4 computers) [ the other models that control 2 computers are lower in price]. so you many need a slightly different model for your setup.
Set 4 will arrive in a few days and I will write / youtube about the setup
